Is a New Emphasis on Hashtag Minimalism Actually Better for the Planet or Women's Mental Health?
Last month I participated in the #may30x30, which is a minimalism challenge to wear the same 30 items of clothing in differing combinations for 30 days. I posted a blog about it mid-month, which I will link to here.…

What the heck is the #May30x30?
The #May30x30 (or just 30x30 anytime, really) is such a well known term in sustainability and minimalist circles that I honestly forgot some people had no idea what I was talking about when I first mentioned it on social media—so for those who haven't heard of it, the #30x30…
So I took the month of January off of shopping.
I think it's a fairly common thing to do, after our collective Black Friday Bacchanalia and the glut of holiday "special offers" and "last chance savings" emails (Hint: it's never the actual last chance. Never.) it seems like a good idea to take a month to…
Come Thrifting With Me!
Check out my plus size thrift haul - my first ever!
So January is a no-buy. No clothes. No makeup. No personal care, no homewares, no nothing. With one notable exception - in-person thrifting doesn't count. And that's deliberate.
You see, I hate thrifting. I get enormously grossed out at thrift stores. The…
Poor freaking Meghan Markle cannot catch a single break.
I know that's an odd thing to say about someone who just had a fairytale wedding into fabulous wealth and actual royalty, but still. I feel for this woman. At first the press was So Glowy. She was amazing! Such romance! So many breaths of fresh air!…
Some Black Friday Plus Sized Fast Fashion #NoJudge
I have been anxiously awaiting Black Friday deals in order to fill in some key missing wardrobe pieces. At the moment I am caught firmly between a "buy nothing" ethos and a "you honestly need a new XYZ" reality, so I was waiting for sales to pick…
A Week of Outfits
We got ripped off.
The universe promises Midwesterners a real autumn to make up for how crappy it is to live in this political hellscape.
"Hey, we didn't expand Medicaid, but at least we have pretty foliage!" we sneer at Californians.
"OK so our last governor tied a lady up and took naked photos…
My aspiring minimalist wardrobe has been getting what feels like a near-total makeover this summer, with many more things finding their way out than finding their way in.
As I make a concerted effort to buy and keep only those pieces that
A) Look good on me
B) Make me happy
C) Conform to my own personal style
I…
It's time to shop my wardrobe! This has been the summer of the great closet cleanout, and my loss is your gain! Check out the items I have for sale on Facebook Marketplace and let me know if you're interested in anything. Will ship for additional charge once I work out the shipping costs. Click…
I've been having a strange fashion summer, which I will write more about in a future post. (I have Deep Thoughts on the topic, trust.) Part of this strange fashion summer has been a resurgence in my fascination with a few British lifestyle bloggers, namely The Anna Edit (she does the best capsule wardrobes) and Lily Pebbles (she's in the middle of a captivating house renovation.) Why I care about the lives of some girls almost 20 years my junior living across the ocean, I can't really explain properly, but I do really enjoy their content and like following them. Earlier this summer Lily posted this daily carry Instagram, and I absolutely fell in love with her handbag.
